There is nothing sweeter than an unexpected collaboration between brands to kickstart a new month. On May 3rd, L’Oréal Paris announced that it was joining forces with luxury fashion house Balmain Paris on a limited edition lipstick collection. While L’Oréal may have an array of A-List celebrities across its offerings, this is the brand’s first ever collaboration with a fashion house. As part of the collaboration, Balmain Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing oversaw the shades, the packaging and the upcoming ad campaign.

“L’Oréal Paris and Balmain share the same strong vision of femininity and the same goal, to empower women and offer them diverse ways to express themselves,” Rousteing said. “With this collaboration, I’m thrilled to make this idea tangible for every woman around the world.”

The collection will be available from early September to coincide with Paris Fashion Week, where L’Oréal is the official partner. “L’Oréal Paris loves this vision of a new Parisian beauty developed by Olivier Rousteing. This collaboration builds on the partnership between L’Oréal Paris and Paris Fashion Week, which seeks to democratise runway beauty for everyone,” stated L’Oréal Paris global brand president Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou. “Olivier Rousteing and his Balmain Paris team have proved exceptional partners in making this idea a reality. Accessible beauty and high fashion now have a symbolic meeting point: this new Color Riche limited collection with Balmain Paris.”
